How to Participate -
Members of the Truman community may participate in the TLC in the following ways:
 

  • Invite a speaker from the program to a club or organization meeting.

  • Develop initiatives to serve and support Truman students as individuals or groups.

  • Nominate a fellow student for the TLC Pass it Along Awards.

  • Learn the signs of emotional distress and where to find support. (University Counseling Services)

  • Share a story of compassion of service that exemplifies our tradition.

  • Pass along the tradition by expressing appreciation, volunteering, and reaching out to others.
     
  • Encourage positive strategies to cope with stress.

  • Include someone new in your activities.

  • Talk to someone you have never met before.

  • Refrain from harsh and quick judgments of others.

  • Recognize the power of each individual to make a positive and powerful difference in the lives of others.

  • Serve as a mentor.

  • Listen.

Send an email with the type of logo you need and we will send it to you! The TLC Logo can be added to letterhead, posters, postcards, stickers, websites and notes.

The TLC Campaign consists of the following activities:

Educational poster initiative.

Presentations for various student groups.

bullet

Use of logo in correspondence and student recognition programs by various Student Affairs Offices.

bullet

Development and maintenance of informational web site.

bullet

Posting stories where members of the Truman community exemplify the Truman tradition of caring.
